Mbps is not MB/s: the catch
Internet plans are sold in megabits per second (Mbps), but files are measured in megabytes (MB). 1 byte = 8 bits, so 100 Mbps ÷ 8 = 12.5 MB/s. That is why a 100 Mbps plan downloads about 12.5 MB every second, not 100.
Theoretical minimum time. In practice, add 5-20% for protocol overhead, source server limits and Wi-Fi. This is the floor, not the guarantee.
